Ensuring that all bolts and connections are securely tightened is equally important to maintain overall structural integrity.

  • Proper lubrication is essential for reducing friction between components and preventing premature wear. Apply appropriate Chisel Paste to the chisel/bushing interface before use and every few hours during operation. High-quality, high-temperature grease that matches the manufacturer's specifications should be used for optimal performance. Always apply grease with down pressure on the tool through the grease zerk to ensure it reaches the necessary areas. Failing to maintain adequate lubrication can lead to overheating and component damage.

  • Hydraulic oil plays a critical role in the performance and longevity of a breaker. Monitor oil levels and quality regularly, as low or contaminated oil can severely damage internal components. Changing hydraulic oil and filters at recommended intervals is essential to prevent the buildup of harmful particles. Always ensure the oil temperature remains within the manufacturer's specified range, as overheating or excessive cooling can negatively affect performance.

  • When not in use, proper storage of the hydraulic breaker is vital to protect it from environmental damage. Store the breaker in a clean, dry location to prevent corrosion and contamination. Applying a light coat of oil to the chisel before storage helps protect against rust. Additionally, storing the breaker upright with down pressure on the tool protects the lower portion of the piston from moisture and potential rust, further extending its lifespan.

  • Using the right tools and settings for each job is critical to avoid unnecessary strain on the hydraulic breaker. Follow the 10% Rule: The breaker should not exceed 10% of the carrier weight. Matching the breaker size and tool to the specific job requirements helps maintain efficiency and prevents damage. Always use the recommended hydraulic flow and pressure settings, and avoid dry firing, which can cause significant internal damage over time.
